1. Cooper’s Hill Cheese Rolling and wake
This is of the craziest event around the world. A 9 lb round of Double Gloucester cheese is rolled from the top of a hill, and competitors race down the hill after it. And the first person over the finish line at the bottom of the hill wins the cheese. All the risk and injuries for the cheese? Definitely insane !

This festival is all about celebrating Penis-shrine ! The penis, as the central theme of the event, is reflected in illustrations, candy, carved vegetables, decorations, and a mikoshi parade. The Kanayama Shrine was popular among prostitutes who wished to pray for protection from sexually transmitted diseases.It is also said the shrine offers divine protections for business prosperity, and for the clan’s prosperity; and for easy delivery, marriage, and married-couple harmony.

3.El Salto del Colacho
During, El Salto del Colacho (the devil’s jump) or simply El Colacho, men dressed as the Devil (known as the Colacho) jump over babies born during the previous twelve months of the year who lie on mattresses in the street. It is said to cleanse the babies of original sin, ensure them safe passage through life and guard against illness and evil spirits.

This festival is all about extraterrestrials where people portrait themselves as aliens and take part in activities such as lectures. Workshops etc.

5.Turkey Testicle Festival
This festival is all about the consumption of animal testicles, usually battered and fried. Its more like a partying. Several testicle festivals are celebrated in different parts of the USA.

Thousands of men participate in this festival wearing a loincloth and receive purification by water at Saidaji Temple. It is significantly celebrates the blessing of a bountiful harvest and all manner of prosperity and fertility.

7.Monkey Buffet Festival
The festival is celebrated annually to promote tourism in Thailand. A grand feast of food is laid to attract monkeys. People feed monkeys as a tribute to Lord Rama of Ramayana, who had a courteous monkey friend-Hanuman.

8.Battle of the oranges
One of the famous food fight is La Tomatina. Similar is, ‘Battle of the oranges’ held annually which involves some thousands of townspeople, divided into nine combat teams, who throw oranges at each other – with considerable violence – during the traditional carnival days: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
