Cook Mutton Gravy in easy 8 Steps. Here’s the Process.

INGREDIENTS:-

  • 1 kg mutton chopped into ½ inch pieces
  • 2 medium onions thinly sliced
  • 2 tomatoes thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp green coriander leaves chopped
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1 pinch of asafoetida( hing)
  • Garam masala
  • 4 green cardamoms
  • 2 black cardamoms
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 4 cloves,1 bay leaf
  • 2 dry red chilllies
  • 5-6 balls black pepper
  • ½ cup oil
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1tsp red chilly powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups water

Method:-

  1. Heat the oil in a pan or a pressure cooker.
  2. Once it is heated, put the hing, cardamoms, pepper, cloves, cinnamon, bay leaf, red chilies and stir fry it for some minutes.
  3. Add the garlic, ginger and onion paste and fry until golden brown
  4. Add meat to the pan and fry till the meat bring brownish color to it. Cook for 10 minutes.
  5. Put the tomatoes in the pan and cook for further 8 minutes.
  6. Add salt, turmeric and chili powder occasionally stirring it.
  7. Add the water and close the lid until 3-4 whistles (cook for half an hour when using a pan).
  8. Garnish the gravy with coriander leaves and serve hot!
